SCHLINGEL GOES HANOI

In May the International Film Festival for Children & Young Audience Schlingel travelled to Hanoi with a selection of excellent children’s films. Their main objective: the promotion of German children’s and youth film production abroad.

Together with the Goethe-Institut Hanoi, the Schlingel Festival participated in the festivities for the International Children’s Day, presenting 6 films in Hanoi’s Kim Dong Cinema. Inspiring workshops were provided in addition to the free screenings. During Q&A’s with German filmmakers Florian Gaag (LENALOVE), Alexandra Prochazka (AT EYE LEVEL) and Neele Vollmar (PASTA DETECTIVES 3), the audience could express its view on the films and on children’s culture in general.

The main objective of Schlingel’s international activities is the promotion of German children and youth film productions abroad. Schlingel therefore aims to increase the young audience’s interest in the German language and the country’s history, culture and traditions. At the same time, Schlingel is expanding its worldwide network, trying to enthuse filmmakers around the globe. Schlingel’s international representation is supported by the Sächsische Staatskanzlei, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) and German Films.
