Filem’on Industry Exchange addresses young professionals

Brussels young audience festival Filem’on this year addresses a specific target group in their international exchange programme: how to convince young film professionals to embrace children’s cinema? The answer: with the help of experienced producers and directors.

29 October
– In a Q&A director Frederike Migom (BINTI, SI-G – picture) will share insight on how she got determined to tell stories for a young audience, and how that guided her throughout the production process.
– Producer Jules Debrock will explain which mutual expectations can define contacts between producers and industry creatives.
– How can film schools inspire filmmakers to produce young audience content? On the panel will be Niv Fux (T-Port, Israel), Zofia Horszczaruk (Warsaw Kids Kino Forum, Kids Kino Lab, Poland), Nicole Kellerhals (Filmhaus Babelsberg, Germany), Charlie Dewulf (Macky Flanders, Belgium) and former film students sharing their personal stories.

1 November
Make room for young audience documentaries! On the programme will be screenings, Q&As and a panel discussion with (among others) Iris Grob (director YOUNG HUNTERS, The Netherlands – picture), Karl Emil Rikardsen (director THE ARCTIC CAMELS, Norway) and Bregt Van Wijnendaele (Ket & Doc, Belgium).
