A double festival leadership for Duisburger Filmwoche and doxs!
Since April 2019 the young people’s documentary film festival doxs! and the Duisburger Filmwoche share two festival directors. Gudrun Sommer established doxs! 18 years ago and has been festival director of the children and youth section ever since. New on board is Christian Koch. Both will work as co-directors of the two sections. “Over the years doxs! grew into a festival on its own within the Filmwoche. Both events existed parallel to each other, working with different teams. Now some of our positions will include both festivals, like those of the two directors,” says doxs! new Head of Festival Organisation Tanja Tlatlik.
The aim of the festival is to promote documentary films and to create a space for discussions, not only for adults (Filmwoche) but also for children and youth. With its new team, doxs! is looking forward to an exciting year, with both festival sections working closer together. The festival will take place in Duisburg and other cities in the region from 4–10th of November 2019.
