JUST Film firmly claims its place within the Black Nights Festival in Tallinn. For instance, a separate section for children’s & youth films is being launched within the Co-production Market, while the Work in Progress is being further developed. The Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event Co-Production Market is the largest event of its kind in Northern Europe. In the new ‘Children’s & Youth Film Section’ there will be a place for both feature-length fiction, documentaries and animations (projects planning the use of AI will receive special attention). This year, the market welcomes the Eurimages Co-production Development Award, which includes a grant of €20,000. In 2024, the Just Film Industry Days will take place on 21–22 November; submissions for the Co-Production Market are only open until 15 July 2024!
JUST Film is also collecting projects for its Work in Progress event: live-action feature, documentaries and animations in production, for a children’s (7-12) or youth (13+) audience. Submissions will open in August.
The announced, intensified collaboration with KIDS Regio can undoubtedly be seen in the light of further building the professional profile of the JUST Film industry days. This upgrading of the young audience section within the main festival makes JUST Film one of the places to keep an eye on, as a rapidly developing and particularly exciting event for youth film professionals.
