KIDS Regio was Building Bridges

Over 60 experts from 25 European countries gathered in Erfurt, Germany to participate in the fourth edition of the KIDS Regio Forum (3 July). Held every five years, the main objective of this edition was to enhance political support for European children’s films.

The motto “Building Bridges” illustrates the desire to better connect various political levels and stakeholders, thus ensuring the recognition of the social and cultural significance of children’s film within a broader context of film and cultural policy.

At the conclusion of the Forum, future steps and initiatives were announced. To find out in detail about KIDS Regio’s plans and ambitions, please consult the KIDS Regio website of check the event’s ‘live editorial‘.

Among the partnerships with industry initiatives on which KIDS Region intends to continue its engagement, you will find several ECFA members, like the Just Film Industry Days (Tallinn), Filem’On (Brussels) and the Olympia Int’l Film Festival (Pyrgos). The ECFA board was solidly represented during the Forum. President Pantelis Panteloglou: “In Erfurt we had the opportunity to present ECFA’s POV and activities to people outside our children’s film bubble, but also to get inspired by industry professionals active in other fields. This encounter, based on both common knowledge and new perspectives, can serve as a basis for a coordinated lobbying approach ahead of the negotiations for the next EU budget 2028-2035.”
